Questions people actually ask

Why can't I ask for 4 seconds?: The model produces between 120 and 360 frames at 24 fps, and rounds up to the next decodable count. Four seconds is 96 frames, which rounds to 107 — below the floor. The hosted MiniMax API accepts 4; we cannot, so we say so rather than quietly giving you five.
Why is my clip slightly longer than I asked for?: Frame counts have to be 17n+5, and the model rounds up. A 10-second request produces 243 frames, or 10.13 seconds. You are billed for the 10 you asked for.
What happens if generation fails?: You are not charged. The cost is held when you submit and returned in full on failure or cancellation.
Is 2K available?: Not yet. 2K output comes from H3-Regenerate-2K, which MiniMax has not open-sourced. A 2K request returns a 400 explaining that, rather than silently downgrading.
Can I use the official MiniMax SDK?: Yes, by pointing it at our base URL. The request and response shapes match; the only extension is two extra model names for the faster and cheaper tiers.
